Basic Requirement

The basic requirement for admission to most TRU programs includes:

• Completion of BC Grade 12 (or equivalent) or Mature Student Status
  
• BC English 12 (or equivalent) - Grade required varies from C+ to B
  

English Profiency

TRU does not require TOEFL or IELTS scores. Completion of the English Language Program allows direct entry to academic study.

Students who do not have English Proficiency Test (EPT) scores will be asked to take an English Placement Test upon arrival. Those students who qualify (either through the English Placement Test or with an existing EPT score) for TRU ESL (English as a Second Language)Level 3, 4 or 5 will be able to combine ESL and academic courses. Please see the table below for the placements indicated by selected EPT test scores.
