Dublin Business School (DBS) is located
in the heart of Dublin, Ireland’s lively capital
city. Ireland is an island situated in the North West
of Europe, and is an English speaking country with a
population of 3.5 million people, while Dublin is only
40 minutes from London and 1 hour from Paris by air.
With a population of 1 million people and proximity
to central Europe, Dublin is a cosmopolitan, vibrant
and friendly city and is one of the safest cities in
the world. Students are thus able to experience the
diversity of Dublin, and the city’s rich culture.
Dublin Business School is now the largest independent
college in Ireland. The college offers a comprehensive
range of programmes that are designed to provide students
with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge that can
be applied to their chosen future career and personal
development.
At present the college has over 4000 students and approximately
150 staff members, all housed in the newly developed
city centre campus. The school was established in 1975,
and quickly earned an excellent reputation for providing
high quality and standards of teaching. DBS has enjoyed
continued success over the years with excellent student
pass rates, numerous awards and prize-winners in the
professional examinations on a world-wide and national
basis.
DBS focuses not only on attaining high academic standards
but also on the development of skills, such that graduates
are equipped with both academic qualifications and the
knowledge and skills to have a successful career. DBS
also focuses on developing individuals’ personality
and encouraging students to participate in activities
beyond the classroom.
DBS offers a Foundation Programme in English and Business
Studies, undergraduate courses, as well as postgraduate

Student
Services
DBS realises there is more to learning than just books
and exams, and serves to educate students in a broad,
all-rounded manner. As such, DBS provides a wide range
of activities and student services to ensure students
learn more than just academic lessons.
Computing and IT Facilities
All students have access to a wide range of computing
facilities to support their studies. The college provides
an extensive range of networked computer facilities,
with access to the latest software. DBS hopes to develop
students’ computing skills which will be of great
benefit not only in studies, but in future careers.
Support & Welfare
The International Student Liaison Officer is available
to deal with any queries, problems or issues faced by
international. A professional counselling service is
also provided to students when necessary. Each student
is also assigned a mentor who takes a personal interest
in that student. All this ensures a smooth transition
for each student to life in Ireland and to university
education.
Orientation Programme
The Students Services Office holds an orientation programme
for newly arrived international students. Following
this there is a programme of events - both social and
sporting - which helps students to meet new friends
and relieve some of the stress of exam pressure in a
fun way. There is an active International Students society
in the college which organises amongst other things
cultural nights, trips outside Dublin and sporting events.
Accommodation
DBS has a comprehensive accommodation service which
will ensure that all international students are housed
in a manner appropriate to their needs and budget.
Insurance
It is compulsory when applying for a study visa to also
take out health insurance. This will be arranged through
the college.
