Auckland

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand, with a population of more than one million people. International students are an established and welcome part of Auckland’s population and lifestyle. Auckland’s lifestyle is voted amongst the best in the world and the city is surrounded by subtropical islands. 26,000 students are enrolled at the university with 1,500 international students from 60 countries.

The University of Auckland

The University of Auckland was established in 1883 and is New Zealand’s largest university. It is an international centre of learning and academic excellence. The University is located in the heart of Auckland and provides an exciting and stimulating environment for 26,000 students.

The University’s comprehensive range of research-based study programs is internationally recognised and attracts undergraduate and postgraduate students from all over the world. Currently almost 2000 international students from 60 different countries have chosen to study at the University of Auckland.

The University’s seven faculties are located over three campuses. These include Architecture, Property, Planning and Fine Arts, Arts, Business and Economics, Engineering, Law, Medical and Health Sciences and Science. The University enjoys international status as the only New Zealand university invited to join both Universities 21 and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities.

The University of Auckland welcomes international students and has accredited the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year program (TAFY) as a special pathway to the university. Taylors students who attain the grades specified for admission to the particular degree program are guaranteed entry to the University of Auckland.

     

Taylors College

Taylors College is the undisputed leader in the provision of University preparation programs for international students wishing to study in Australia. With campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, Taylors has set standards other education providers strive to match without success. For 4 years in a row, Taylors College has been identified as the most effective school in Victoria for preparing students for university entry.

Taylors College was established in 1920 and aims to maximise the performance of its students with the objective of helping its students gain entry to the most prestigious universities.

New Zealand’s reputation amongst international students is growing through its government’s active support for international students and increasing awareness overseas of the high quality university degree programs offered.

Student Services

Taylors College can assist students to secure accommodation in Auckland - whether in homestay, or in student hostels. A representative from the college can also be sent to receive students at the airport upon prior registration. The college also provides counselling to students, as staff are familiar with the needs of international students and are available to advise students on personal matters as well as matters concerning students’ academics.

TAFY
