Pre-Sessional Courses

A pre-sessional course at Glasgow Caledonian University prepares international students an intensive English language course to prepare you for living and studying in Scotland.
If you have are within 0.5 of the IELTS minimum language requirement for entry to your chosen programme, successful completion of a pre-sessional course is an alternative to taking the IELTS exam to fulfil the condition of entry to a course at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Undergraduate Programmes

International students whose first language is not English shall normally be required to demonstrate evidence of satisfactory competence by holding one of the following recognised qualifications: TOEFL 550 (paper-based test) with a written English test score of a minumum 0 4.5 or 213 (computer-based test.)or IELTS 6.0

Postgraduate Programmes

Candidates should normally possess a relevantsecond class honours degree (UK or equivalent).

All candidates should be computer literate and have a proven ability in written and spoken English. International students whose first spoken language is not English should have either TOEFL 575 or IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
