Undergraduate Programmes

To study at the University of Portsmouth, applicant must be 18 years old by the start of the course.
Each course at the University will have its own entry requirements. As a guide, applicant should have, or be taking:

  • 2 or 3 GCE A levels or
  • a recognised Access or Foundation course or
  • the International Baccalaureate (minimum score 24 points) or
  • the European Baccalaureate (minimum score 60%) or
  • a High School Leaving Certificate, which is deemed to be equivalent to A level/ International or European Baccalaureate standard
  • IELTS 6 or
  • TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based)

Postgraduate Programmes

For taught postgraduate courses, the normal entry requirement is an honours degree from a United Kingdom University. Applicants without this qualification may offer equivalent qualifications, experience in a relevant area, or a combination of both.
