    About The Institute

The University of West London is a public university with over 150 years experience in technical and vocational education.

In 2008, the University of West London embarked on an ambitious new strategic direction, the first phase of which is complete. The aim was to locate the University in its traditional heartland of west London, become more employer focused and improve its reputation.

The University of West London now has one main West London campus, with two sites at St. Mary's Road in Ealing and Paragon House in Brentford. There will also be a University 'Hub' in Berkshire which will be the location for health-based courses.

The University of West London also has two specialist schools, namely the London School of Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure and the London College of Music and Media. The London School of Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure is one of the largest specialist centres for tourism, hospitality and leisure education in Europe while the London College of Music and Media is the largest specialist music and performing arts institution in the United Kingdom.

The Cities of Ealing and Brentford

The West London campus has two locations, one in Ealing and the other in Brentford.

There is no shortage of things to do in Ealing. There are over 20 restaurants within the centre of Ealing alone and the cuisines available include Japanese, Nepalese, Italian, Thai and Indian, to name but a few.

The Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre has excellent shopping facilities, coffee shops, cinemas, pubs, wine bar and clubs, all offering a wide range of entertainment. There is also a cinema located in the centre of Ealing called the Empire Cinema. Ealing is only 30 mins by tube from the centre of London.

Brentford has a lot to offer, with a wide range of leisure, food and drink venues, and shop facilities. It is also just 30 minutes by train to central London.

There are a wide range of leisure activities within Brentford. One can choose from sports and fitness centres (Fountain Leisure Centre, Brentford Football Club) to art centres and galleries (Watermans Art Centre). In particular, there are a number of parks nearby (Boston Manor Park, Gunnersbury Park and Syon Park).

There are also a wide variety of cuisine in the area, from Chinese, and Indian to fish and chips. The local public services include the Barclays and Natwest banks on Brentford High Street, a number of places of worship for various religious faiths, the Brentford library and a post office.
